The infections that affect the reproductive tract are known as reproductive tract infections. It affects different reproductive parts in males and females. In males, it affects urethra, testicles and penis. Whereas, in females, it infects the upper reproductive tract which includes fallopian tubes, ovary and uterus, and lower reproductive tract including vagina, cervix and vulva. There are three main types of reproductive infections - endogenous infections, iatrogenic infections and sexually transmitted infections. The endogenous infections arise from an infectious agent previously present within the body. Sexually transmitted infections are spread by sexual activities. Each infection has its symptoms and may be caused by a bacterium, fungus, virus or other organisms. Some reproductive tract infections such as AIDS and herpes are non-curable. They can cause impotence, ectopic pregnancy, premature ejaculation and dysmenorrhea. This book contains some path-breaking studies in the field of reproductive tract infections. It strives to provide a fair idea about such infections and to help develop a better understanding of their diagnosis and management. This book will serve as a valuable source of reference for graduate and post graduate students.
